Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 in 1970) is an American former football tight-end. Gonzalez was a player in the National Football League from 1997 until 2003. One of America's top tight ends of all time, he has the NFL record for most receiving yards among all tight ends. Gonzalez is also ranked as the third-highest player in terms of number of receiving yards.
Tony Gonzalez serves as a FOX sports studio analyst. Gonzalez has been on FOX NFL KICKOFF (FOX's hour-long NFL pregame broadcast prior to FOX NFL SUNRISE) that airs every Sunday at 11:00AM ET through the NFL season.
Gonzalez signed a new contract with the Falcons with a two-year term and $14 million on the 15th of March 2013. This was despite being aware that Gonzalez previously stated that he was planning to retire after the football season of 2013. Randy Moss retired in 2013 in 2013, and Gonzalez aged 37 at the time completed the year that ended his playing career in the position of being the NFL leader for receiving yards.
